During the consultation and intake process, clients will have an opportunity to share relevant medical history, previous birth experiences, diagnoses, and special circumstances. This information allows our agency to thoughtfully match each family with a doula who has the appropriate experience, training, and comfort level to support their needs.

  • Support for informed decision-making and communication with the medical team
  • Preparation for different possible birth outcomes without judgment

High-Risk and Medically Complex Pregnancy Support

Our team also includes doulas equipped to provide compassionate, nonclinical support to families navigating high-risk pregnancies, additional medical monitoring, or more complex birth circumstances.

Support may include

  • Emotional support throughout pregnancy
  • Help preparing questions for medical appointments
  • Education about common procedures and medical terminology
  • Assistance organizing birth preferences and priorities
  • Support navigating changes to the original birth plan
  • Continuous labor support alongside the client's medical care team
